President
- The President shall preside at all meetings of the organization and
of the Executive Committee and shall perform such other duties as may be
prescribed in these bylaws or assigned to him/her by the organization
or by the Executive Committee and shall coordinate the work of the
officers and committees of the organization in order that the goals may
be promoted. The President also reviews and approves website updates,
ensuring proper content resides on the Ridge PTO web page.
Vice President
- The Vice President(s) shall act as aide to the President and shall
perform the duties of the President in the absence or inability of that
officer to act, shall coordinate the work of the committees of the
organization, and shall perform such other duties as may be delegated to
him/her.
Secretary - The Secretary shall record the
minutes of all meetings of the organization and the Executive Committee
and present the minutes at the following month’s meeting for approval.
The secretary shall send notice of meetings, read and conduct
correspondence as directed and shall perform such other duties as may be
delegated to him/her.
Treasurer - The duties of the Treasurer are:
1.
To have custody of all funds of the organization, keep a full and
accurate account of all receipts and all expenditures, and to make
disbursements in accordance with the approved budget as authorized by
the organization.
2. To present a financial report at every
meeting of the organization and at other times when requested by the
Executive Committee.
3. To serve a term of office that shall coincide with the fiscal year.
4.
To submit the accounts to be examined annually by an outside auditor
hired by the Executive Board who, satisfied that the Treasurer’s annual
report is correct, shall sign a statement of that fact at the end of the
report. A CPA will be hired to prepare Annual Federal Tax Forms.
5.
To secure a non-profit institutional fidelity bonding policy. The
expenditure involved in securing the bond is a legitimate expense for
the organization.
District Parent Council – The two DPC
Reps attend all regular council meetings and serve as a link between the
Ridge PTO and the district. The council has an advisory capacity to the
superintendent and links all district schools and their parent groups
to share concerns and activities of their buildings. The representatives
also attend district school board meetings and reports information to
the organization.
