The Lakota Board of Education has contracted with the Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) to assist in our search for a new permanent superintendent. We anticipate our new educational leader will begin work in the district in late summer, taking over for Interim Superintendent Robb Vogelmann, who will return to his role as assistant superintendent. The Board hopes to complete the search in late June.
In our effort to assure that all voices are heard, we have included in the search process a time for OSBA consultant Cheryl Ryan to meet with staff, parents and community members in several focus groups on Wednesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 31, 2023. The focus groups are intended to help augment the profile we will develop for our next district leader. Common themes will help as we evaluate potential candidates for interviews. Similar to the recently completed community survey related to the search, these conversations will focus on gathering perspectives in three main areas:
- Major issues, challenges or opportunities for the district;
- Performance experience or expectation for the next superintendent; and
- Leadership characteristics that should be evident in the next superintendent.
